I owned my first French Bulldog in 1987- Vietare Hopscotch at Morven. Steffi was a character, her favourite game was ambushing Bullmastiffs on walks. She lived until she was 11 years of age.
Soon after Banerjee Burlesque at Morvern arrived. Fleur was full of character and devilment. Despite this she did quite well at shows, and won her KC stud book number. I well remember her winning her class at Crufts and then performing like a burlesque dancer! Fleur won best Veteran in show at the French Bulldog Club of England limit show in 2005. She was always a healthy, lively girl and lived to be 12.
Fleur produced 2 litters by my Ch Glenlee Indian Dancer at Morvern. It is from these two French Bulldogs that my kennel has been established.
Two males from this breeding did well. Morvern Byron won 4 reserve CC's, one of those at Crufts in 2005. He won BIS at The Midland & Northern Counties French Bulldog Club open show in 2005, under esteemed judge Dr Andreas Schemell. During his show career he consistently won at championship level.
Morvern Bart stayed with me, he was a lighter brindle with striking tiger brindle markings. He won the special puppy dog class at Crufts in 2003, and won classes at both breed club championship shows. He was a very sound, free moving dog. He sired a few litters and produced pups with as nice a nature as he had.
In 1999 Zilnor Emerald at Morvern arrived. She was a small typy brindle, who loved the show ring. Emerald was Best Puppy in Breed at Crufts in 2000, she was also Reserve Bitch Challenge to the breed record holding bitch. She later won another reserve challenge, consistently winning her way into the limit class at championship level. Emerald was still winning as a Veteran. Her swansong was winning a class of 27 veterans.
Glenlee Indian Dancer was born in 1999, he came to Morvern in 2001. He already had some good wins under his belt by then. I campaigned him and he gained his title in 2003. Kyle won 4 Challenge Certificate and 3 Reserve Challenge Certificates. He won his 4th CC under Moa Persson at the Midland & Northern Counties French Bulldog Championship Show. Kyle won the open dog class, beating 12 other Frenchies, most of them titled - to me that was his big win. Kyle sired 5 litters, and produced some very nice puppies.
The last litter he sired produced Ch Feniton Fergus at Morvern JW SHCM.
I will always be grateful to the Glenlee kennel for the influence of Mr Kyle in my present French Bulldogs.
